Step-by-Step Notes
- Take your SD card out of your camera. Insert your USB media card reader into the correct slot on your computer. Look for the SD/mini/MMC/RS icon. NOTE - You might also have a camera that uses CF card to record photos on.
- Insert your SD card into your USB media card reader or media card slot on your computer. You will see the SD card appear on your computer as a removable driver.
- Open the SD card folder from “Computer” on a PC. Open the folders on the SD card until you see the picture files, which typically have the JPG file extension.
- Select all of the pictures on the SD card by pressing CTRL + A on the keyboard.
- Copy the pictures by pressing CTRL + C on the keyboard.
- Create a new folder on the desktop that is called - YourLastName_CameraDownloads
- Then paste the pictures to this folder by pressing CTRL+ V on the keyboard.
- This effectively downloads the pictures from the SD card to your computer.
- Upload this folder to your Google Drive to back up this folder in case this folder is deleted.
