My Life... My art.
You may have seen the American Express ad's before and now is your chance to 'express' yourself. In our introduction assignment you will literally introduce yourself. Below are two advertisements of Ellen DeGeneres, Tina Fey and Kate Winslet. Study how they are photographed. What props are they using? Do the images look candid or posed? How can you express who you are through one photographic image?
Take at least 3- 5 different self-portraits using different props, in different locations, etc. Try and have someone take the photo for you or use the timer setting on your camera. You can take the pictures at home or bring props to school and have a friend help you take the image. The photographs of Ellen, Tina and Kate were taken by a famous photographer named Annie Leibovitz. Interested in some extra credit? Find out more about Annie Leibovitz and write a paragraph about her (include one of her photographs) and her work using Word. |
