Step 1
Open Photoshop CC
Step 2
The two files you need to open for this exercise can be found here: Extraction - Refine Edge folder
In Photoshop go to File Menu > Open > Graphic Arts (G:) drive\Digital Photography\Photoshop Exercises\Exercise Images\Extraction - Refine Edge folder.
Open both Dog Retriever.jpg and Park.jpg images.

Select the Quick Selection Brush

Open both Dog Retriever.jpg and Park.jpg images.

Select the Quick Selection Brush

Start on the photo of the Retriever Dog.jpg

Click and drag over the dog using the Quick Selection Brush tool. You will see a moving dotted line (marching ants) as you do this.

Hold down the Shift key and then Select Menu > Select and Mask

Select Overlay (V) if you don't already have this view selected. Most of the outside are around the dog will be a red color.
Then click Esc key or on the word View: to close this dropdown

Increase your brush size to 200 in the Options Bar

Begin painting around the dog keeping the circle of the brush half on the dog and half on the background.

Bring forward the photo called Park.jpg

Save the completed file as QUICK SELECTION-REFINE EDGE.psd to your Google Drive folder
